Waterforest

2025年6月14日~7月21日にhakari contemporaryで開催された、上村洋一個展「Waterforest」の記録として制作された12インチLPレコード。

トラック1には、同展で発表された4.1チャンネル・サウンドインスタレーション《Waterforest》のサウンドトラックを収録。水や氷の音、そしてそれらを取り巻く自然環境の響きによって織り上げられた本作は、世界各地で録音された風景の声を集めたものである。

トラック2〜6には、《Waterforest》から選ばれ、精緻に整えられたフィールドレコーディングを、装飾を施さないかたちで収録。

同封のブックレットには、同展ゲストキュレーター黒沢聖覇によるエッセイと、イングランドの音楽家、キュレーターのデヴィッド・トゥープによるエッセイを日英併記で収録している。

A 12-inch LP produced as an archival record of Yoichi Kamimura’s solo exhibition Waterforest, held at hakari contemporary from June 14 to July 21, 2025.

Track 1 features the soundtrack of the 4.1-channel sound installation Waterforest, originally presented in the exhibition. Woven from the sounds of water and ice, together with the surrounding natural environments, the work gathers the voices of landscapes recorded across the world.

Tracks 2–6 present a selection of field recordings drawn from Waterforest, carefully refined and presented in their unadorned form.

The accompanying booklet includes essays by the exhibition’s guest curator Seiha Kurosawa and by the England-based musician and curator David Toop, presented in both Japanese and English.
